Introducing #suzyink

Meet the face of our June campaign Aleks. Aleks lives in Montreal and is represented by Folio model management. When Aleks came to set we noticed she has a little heart tattoo on her wrist, and after chatting with her for a bit we got the back story on it and thought it was too sweet not to share!

We noticed you have a heart tattoo what’s the meaning behind it?

My mom and I wanted to do matching tattoos! It took us few months to decide if we should really do it or not. We decided to do it inside our wrist, I did it on the left hand and she did on the right. Our meaning of the tattoo was to always think of each other because my mom and I are best friends, so when I feel disappointed I look at my tattoo and think of my mom. Obviously a heart was the likely choice.

That’s so cute, do you have any other tattoos or are planning to get any others?

Yes I have another tattoo. I did it few years ago and it was my first one, you can barely see it. I like when tattoos are discreet. I’m not planning on having any other tattoos. I’m not really a ‘tattoo person’ but the one’s I have mean a lot to me.

What advice would you give to a girl getting her first tattoo?

To think about it, but mostly the tattoo has to be meaningful so when you look at it, it makes you smile. You can’t do a tattoo just to be ‘cool’ or mimic someone else. It should be something honest, that makes you proud and stronger every time you look at it.
