The Essential Vacation Packing List
The first long weekend of Summer is finally here and you know what that means - time to take yourself away on a vacay. There’s nothing worse than when you arrive on vacation and realize that you forgot to pack something totally essential. Don’t worry, that won’t happen to you this year because Suzy is here to save the day with the essential vacation packing list. All of the things that every jet-setter needs in her suitcase this Summer. So, grab a pen and paper ladies! Here’s your essential vacation packing list…
Shoes
We’ll start at the bottom and work our way up. When it comes to Shoes there are a few pairs that you simply HAVE to make sure to pack into your suitcase. Flip flops are, of course, a total must-have for beach days, pool days and everything in between. Next, you’ll need a killer pair of sandals that you can dress up or down, in the evenings or the daytime. Finally, we’d recommend that you pack yourself a pair of sneakers for travelling or those days that you spend exploring the area. With these three pairs of essential shoes, you’re ready for anything!
Bottoms
Bottoms up! What is a vacation without a great pair of shorts (or two)? A pair of jean shorts is a vacation must-have but we’d recommend taking another more tailored pair for those days when you want to look a little more put together. In addition, you’ll need a pair of long pants in case the evenings get a little chilly. So, pass the Palazzos, please! Then finally, you won’t want to forget a skirt- midi or maxi, whatever floats your boat this Summer, add it to your suitcase.
Dresses
Dress to impress. The best part of Summer is being able to wear dresses, so you’ll want to be sure to have a few great dresses in your suitcase this trip. From day dresses and shirt dresses to lace dresses and wrap dresses, there’s a dress that’s perfect for every occasion. The golden rule is: “mini, maxi and midi”. As long as you make sure to have one of each, you’ll never be without a great outfit this vacation.
Tops
Top it off with a solid selection of basic tees and tanks. White, black and a pop of colour will ensure that you have all of your bases covered for days spent adventuring. Then you’ll need something a little more evening appropriate. Show off your new tan with an off the shoulder top or layer on style with a floral kimono.
Accessories
When it comes to your vacation wardrobe, accessories are key. A jean jacket, a great sun hat and a straw beach bag are all vacation essentials. Plus, you’ll need at least one pair of great sunglasses to protect your eyes from the harsh rays. Even in the hottest of places the evenings can get a little chilly, so throw in a fun patterned pashmina that you can wrap up in if it gets cold. Finally, you’ll want a great statement necklace and a pair of killer earrings and voila! You’re all packed.
